This event was started in 2015 due to all the negative and destructive social media shown regarding our Law Enforcement nationwide. We felt the desire to bring our citizens together in a social atmosphere with our Local Law Enforcement in order to create relationships, provide knowledge and awareness.
In 2015, we brainstormed the event in June and July and pulled the event off for September 30th at Lodi Lake (in less than three months) it rained! But we persevered raising $8133. This allowed the Lodi Police Foundation to purchase trauma kits for every police vehicle (God forbid they have to use them).
In 2016, we are proud to announce we raised $13,935 for the Lodi Police Foundation which enabled them to replace the outdated and warn out ballistic shields for ALL the patrol officers.
For 2017 the board decided to move the event from Lodi Lake and make it a 5K fun run/walk. We were so thankful that the number of registered runners & walkers over exceeded our expectations. Lodi Heroes.Org revealed the money raised at the November City Council Meeting in the amount of $9077 to the Lodi Police Foundation which allowed the Lodi Police Department to replace the ballistic helmets for all the Lodi Police Officers.
This event is FREE to the community! We are so excited to announce that our 2019 event will be Saturday, November 2 at 8am to noon in a park-like setting at Jessie's Grove Winery on Turner Road, Lodi. Come and meet and greet our local law enforcement (rain or shine). We will also have free fun activities for all ages to do!
If you are interested in helping us raise additional funds you are more than welcome to sign up for our 10K or 5K Fun Run/Walk through Eventbrite or make a monetary donation.
